Trouble viewing pictures on DVD, Need Help Options

Hi. I have Roxio Eaqsy Media Creator 7. Each year I back up my photos and share photos with my family on CD/DVD. My dad has an Apple computer and is unable to open the files I copy onto CD/DVD. He also has a Windows laptop and has problems with the disks on that computer as well, but can at least view the photos. My question is how to I transfer the files (i.e. pictures) without the Roxio information so that ANYONE can view them and put them on their own computers, no matter their operating system?

I know that I once figured out a way to do this, but I can't for the life of me remember how I did it. All of my files are either jpg or tiff (don't think that should matter, but just in case). I even tried uninstalling Roxio, but my computer just told me that I couldn't copy to DVD (windows media player didn't recognize the DVD). Maybe what I'm needing is to know how to make windows media player my default media source for copying CDs and DVDs. Thanks for any help.

If you just treat the pictures as data files and bring them into Creator Classic they should be readable on any computer - don't forget to finalise the disc tho (what I normally do to make 100% certain is to burn as an image file to the h/d first and then open that with Disc Copier)

Hi Daithi. I do treat them as data files (at least I think I do). I save them to my HD in jpeg or tiff format, then when I'm ready to copy to CD/DVD I just open them up, select, then copy to... Is that what you mean? I do finalize the disc (if that's the step when you're ready to eject and it asks if this disk will be viewed on other computers or just this computer) and I instruct it that it will be used on other computers.

When you say bring the files into Creator Classic, do you also mean "drag to disc"? I use drag to disc, but sometimes also actually open Creator Classic, but I haven't noticed a difference in results this way.

If you use Drag to Disc it's a cast-iron certainty that you will lose files - it's about as reliable for long-term storage as an igloo in the Sahara (and not just D2D - any other similar program has the same problem)

What I do normally is import the files to Creator Classic, select burn and set destination as the hard drive - this will make an 'image' file (either c2d or iso - doesn't matter)

Open that image file with Disc Copier and it will produce a finalised CD/DVD that any computyer can read
