I use photosuite with windows xp home and recently burned out my power supply burning dvd's because it took so long. This is probably a naive question but can you burn dvd's in stand-by mode to save on stressing the power supply? Thanks to anyone who responds.

It's not even a good idea to do so with a screensaver running.

You need to get one that is up to the task of running all of the hardware on your computer. Personally, I would not have a PSU that is less than 450 watts.
