Mini-DVD disc capacity Options

I burn photosuite projects I create on mini-dvds (ie. 1.4GB). I have noticed that each subsequent project I burn seems to have less and less disc capacity. Is there some cache or something I should be clearing to keep the disc capacity high and/or optimized. Thanks to all who respond.

How are you burning the projects to a DVD? Which program are you using?

Roxio EMC 7.5.

Are you creating multiple sessions on the same disc?

Or, what is it that is showing "less capacity"?

I am using a mini-dvd (1.4gb), photosuite 7.5, and yes I create multiple chapters or sessions on each disc but as I said the capacity keeps going down with each new project.

Why wouldn't it? You add to the disc, the free space on the disc gets smaller. Why do you find that odd?

The problem is each successive disc I make holds less data. The first disc I made held 10 separate slideshows on one disc. The last disc I made held only 3 slideshows. Same disc size, same program, same size for each slideshow. I think I have a problem without a solution or one that will eventually fix itself.

No, I have always used the hightest quality (hq). Do you think I should opt for a lower quality setting?

Have you tried using Windows Explorer to see what files are actually on that DVD?

It sounds like somehow the old files are being added to your new slideshow.

The quality shouldn't matter unless you're using higher quality pictures on your newer slideshow.

Are you using a standalone PhotoSuite program, Easy Media Creator 7 that you purchased or one that came with hardware?

My apologies to all. I was using the fit-to-dvd setting when EP was the one I wanted. User error!
