Seems like you really have to do some searching to find media for Qflix. Verbatim promises them but I've not seen them online.  A search at supermediastore.com doesn't find any. Roxio shows it 'soon'.  Dell sells the drive but searching their site yields nothing.
Is this technology available now?  Can someone buy a drive from Dell and if they  have the media, is CinemaNow up and running and could I, tonite, buy and download a movie?

Dell ships the drive with media.

Cinema Now is up an running on its own. If you don't have a drive you can still download and watch movies.

Most of the full featured movies are almost close to 2 hours or so in length plus the extras. I wonder if the there is no loss of quality when burning such movie to the current available 4.7gb disc.

Just the fact that most full featured movies are 2 hours or plus, my assumption is that it would have to be compressed some to get it on the 4.7GB disc. And in turn I would think that if that's so you would probably loose some quality. That does happen in MyDVD when a production is 1 hour (where you expect to get best quality) as opposed to more than 1 hour and you choose "Fit To Disc" when burning.

MyDVD encodes at 9 mbs constant bit rate. The movie industry with Sonic's high $ movie industry variable bit rate multiple pass encoders, have way better quality at 3 to 4 mbs variable bit rate..That is how you get 2 hrs excellent quality on a DVD. What CinemaNow gives you for a download format and quality someone will actually have to check that and see!
