We used Photsuite 7 to create a slideshow but can't seem to burn it to DVD? An "incompatible media" message comes up. It looks like despite the name of the feature in the program ("DVD Builder") the program does not actually burn to DVDs. Apparently we need Easy Media Creator to do this? We are novices at all of this but spent a lot of time to create the DVD and are immensely frustrated that we cannot now burn it. Is there any easy solution to this problem?

That is because you can't burn a slideshow to a DVD, using Photosuite. It will burn data to a DVD but not any type of video file. Build your slide show in VideoWave and burn to a DVD with DVD Builder instead.

Unless you have only the Photosuite 7 Platinum; then you can burn the project (DMSM) to a CD. Won't be very good quality but may be enough for your use (sharing.)

Thanks guys. We do only have Photosuite7 Platinum sowe are sol I gather. Tried burning to a CD but the quality is not great. I see that there are versions of Easy Media Creator 7 available for cheap now that there is EMC 8. If we purchase EMC 7 can we burn DVDs with it?

I'm not surprised, CD quality video are usually pretty bad.

In answer to your question, yes. if you get the full EMC 7 (not any of the lite versions) or 7.5. In fact, many people find that the quality of the finished product is better in V7/7.5 than in V8. The only issue is that you will have two copies of Photosuite on your computer. You will build your slide shows (and any other video project) in VideoWave and burn your project with DVDBuilder. Sounds complicated but it is not. You will just use a specialized program for each step in your process and will have many more options. All of those programs and more are in the suite. BTW, do not have two packet writing programs on your computer - Roxio's is Drag to Disc. The two copies will conflict if one is not automatically removed. You can do a custom install or remove D2D. It is not very good for much except for short term storage of data. I think Photosuite 7 Platinum does install D2D.
