Ok, here are some specs for my laptop that i just loaded EMC 9 on to. I went to the ati website & attempted an update of my display card(not even sure if it worked or not)? And later on when i get a chance i'm going to post my desktop specs because thats the computer that i use the most.... EMC 9.0 will be installed on it also when i get 2 hrs to do it.. I think i've found out that EMC 9 just doesn't display transitions like my 7.5 did( no matter how good a video card you have!) So i guess i can forget any nice pretty colored transitions with my movies?? I tried one of my old ones & it only shows hazy transitions, not like on my originals.
The thing that puzzles me now is if EMC 9 shows them differently now, then cannot the old ones be imported from the 7.5 program?......I guess it was more cost effective to add a xringtone feature than an import/export feature??.....Thanks for all your help & if any of this rings a bell & you can help me further it shall be appreciated. Hey? Your sharp!......... Finally someone that might can help me! I tried to post my system info here but for some reason it wont happen!.....And thanks for the screenshot offer(have u ever tried snagit 8.0?) First of all u can help me to put my system info here, i seem to be having problems getting that done & it will help both of us if i do?? And my most important question to "YOU" is: since your familiar with most of the transitions! Let's assume that i have the very latest driver update for my video card? Does any transitions in EMC 9 show in color & 3-D like they do in reveals of EMC 7.5?? I tried copying & pasting my info here........is there another way to do it?? There aren't 255 transitions in any version of videowave?? What are you talking about??? I have about 255 transitions. How many do you have? The categories in V9 VideoWave are: Reveals, Pushes and Slides, Page Turns, 3D, Particles, and Distort. That is if you have a video card/chip that will handle them all. -- about 150 if you don't. I can do a screen shot if you don't believe me. (Remember that I provide a video of the pan and zoom.) How about answering some questions that are asked of you?
Why won't you post your computer specs especially your video card/chips? I never had 7.5 but did have 7.0 and agree that it was a good program. If you have a marginal computer like an older laptop, I agree that 7/7.5 is a better product for that machine especially if the person doesn't want or need what the upgrade gives you. For a machine that is clean and up to date (one that meets the requirements), V8 or V9 are excellent products but there is no compelling reason the go from V8 deluxe to V9 (IMHO) You seem to say you have all this inside information but you just say it -- where is it- link? (remember that update schedule for - what 22 days). Now stop ranting and ask or answer questions. You seem to know V7/7.5 why don't you help out there rather than not helping here. How about answering some questions that are asked of you? I have two of them underlined above. The third is rhetorical. -------------------- System Information

It's not built into the application to do so.

Can transitions from EMC 7.5 be imported into EMC 9 and if so, How???? I noticed that you list only 64MB for your video adaptor. I just counted the TRANSITIONS in Videowave 9. I have a total of 245 in all. The color in the transitions was removed starting in V8. Your guess is as good as mine as to why. Let's see, 9 plus 6 carry the two .... Yep, video problem I don't see a card in that computer, just chips and the laptop probably doesn't have a card either. Mr C, please read up on how to install the drivers on the ATI web site; I think that ATI does it almost automatically. How many transitions do you see; you still don't like to answer questions. If you have about 145, then your chips won't handle the more complex ones. What resolution are your running on your display? Another question to answer. Nevermind, I figured it out. Thanks for the fix:)
```````` Regarding the EMC 9 fix for Vista RC1 posted at the top of this post, how exactly do I follow those instructions? Do I somehow enter those lines into a text file and then "run" that or do I go into Regedit and modify each of those lines? In other words, how do I use the below info to fix the problem on my computer? Thanks in advance, Rich Launches on Vista RC1 (IE7 RC1) with the following registry modifications. #BEGIN emc9.reg Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic\Registration\Roxio Easy Media Creator 9] "RemindForNLaunches"=dword:00000005 "RemindAfter"=dword:00000003 "ShowRegistration"=dword:00000000 "ReminderCount"=dword:00000001 "Last"=dword:45035ef3 #End emc9.reg This post has been edited by Rich1524: Sep 14 2006, 08:17 PM |
That allows it to start for me now on RC1. The main reaon I bought the upgrade was for Vista support. Does this affect it for running going forward or will it stop due to not registering? |
okay, how do i make a reg file? I already tried making it with notepad, with everything that was posted here, and regedit says that its not a valid registry file, I mean if anyone could actually send me a copy of the reg file they used itd be a great help, or please point me in teh right direction.
BTW, I am using Vista x86 RC1, and strangely Drag to Disc works, but Creator Classic and the rest of the suite fails to load. |
I got frustrated enough trying to get EMC version 9 to install that I did a clean install of my Vista 32-bit RC1 (5600) system and installed EMC ver. 9 before any other software (including virus) and the program still refuses to run after install.
Over $100.00 spent on a system that is touted as Vista Compatable in RC1 but experience is anything but encouraging. |
Larry, that argument was suppose to end in another thread and is over. It's a dead argument and any more discussion about it is a waste of time IMO. -------------------- Paul
Ok, I removed IE7 and installedd EMC9 and loaded every option and registered when requested. I have installed IE7 and have NO problems so far with EMC9. I'm very suspecious that this all revolves around accessing www.roxio.com site for registering, looks like they just don't support it yet.
Has anyone else had any problems using EMC9 after doing what I did? |
