Full Version: Verify Stage

Hello,

I have noticed recently that when I construct a DVD disc from video files, Toast (7.1) skips the final verification step.
I have verify selected in the "advanced" tab before burning but Toast just encodes, burns, but does not verify nor give me the choice to verify the disc at the end. (The burn completes but the verify is no longer available)

But when I run "Copy" and make a copy of a DVD the final verify stage runs.

But I remeber the verify phase also ran with the Video function as well.

Does anyone have a similar problem and a solution?

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Verification compares the final disc to the original data. When you burn a DVD that isnt a copy but from video files, the files are re-encoded before being written to the DVD so the orignal files will never be the same as the burnt files. As a result, there is no way to compare the 2.

Thank you for clarifying that!
Yes I failed to mention when I did remember the verify stage coming up in the "Video" setting it was when I was copying from a VideoTS folder and not actually piecing together different QTvideo files to make the DVD.

I just made a DVD from a video TS folder and it verified so all is well I presume.
