System crashes with an unknown error when writing a music DVD. Data DVD writes ok with same drive and media. Drive is Philips DVD+-RW DVD8701. System is Dell XPS400 - 3Ghz Pentium.

If you are using DVD Assistant try using Music Disc Creator instead. For some reason it seems people have had better success with it.

I don't have an answer, just a suggestion, use an "RW" disc for testing so you can erase and retry using the same disc, or try writing to a .ISO file. If the .ISO file gets created okay, then there should be no problem writing that to disc in Disc Copier.

The same here, I've tried every possible way, never passes beyond "encoding menus" and crashes every time, very frustrating , since DVD Music was what made me choose this software.Must be a bug .
By the way , my system is well above the minimum requirements. I'm lost.

There are more factors than just having a computer that is above minimum specs. Maintenance is a must. Getting rid of spyware/malware and defragging the hard drive is part of that maintenance.

Factors such as what is running in the background, and what other burning programs are on your computer, are important. So, you can see that saying your computer is above the minimum requirements is a generic statement.

Also, there are different approaches to attaining the same end. The approach that you use is important, and determining whether or not the files that you are trying to use are corrupt, is a must.

Finally, you may think that your hardware is good, but the fact is, there is much junk out there. I am not saying that this is the case with you, but make sure that your burner has the latest firmware update. It really is a must, also. The type of media that you use is as important as the harware that you use. There is media out there that is only suitable for the trash can.

Thanks grandpa for the info, very useful. I've done all that you mentioned without success. I can burn video DVDs without a problem, only when I tried burning Music DVDs that this problem occurs. I've heard that previous versions also had similar problems in the beguiling and the problem was solved after an update was released. Hopefully this is the case.

I believe previous versions of EMC (7.5, 7.??) did not have a "Music DVD" program,.
