I have a DELL XPS600 with preinstalled Sonic software and also My DVD Le.. I installed Easy Media Creator 9 and that is when the fun begin. I started getting activation issues, after much grief and trying everthing suggested in forums, I finally found the instructions for a clean install. Most of the requirements for a clean install require clearing everything DELL installed that involves Sonic or Roxio. Things finally started working then a few days later bugs with activation started coming back. I am on my third clean reinstall. I still get "BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH" crashes if I try to drag an entire folder to the DVD. I am not sure if most of the problems are conflicts with my system or with bad coding in Easy Media Creator. I have seen many post here from others using diffrent setups that match my problems.
I don't know how many more clean installs I will put of with before I throw in the towel.

"Issues" covers a lot of ground. What happens? What's the error message? If IE7 is installed, remove it.
Sometimes looking at the BSOD can provide some clues if it is a driver conflict. When you get another BSOD, write down the STOP error code and look carefully to see if it names a particular file that caused the BSOD. Write down the STOP error code, parameters and message, plug the STOP error code into google search and see if anything relevent comes back.
If your BSOD just flashes by and your computer reboots right after, then turn off automatic restart:
Right-click on My Computer, select Properties, click Advanced tab, click Settings in Startup and Recovery section, uncheck "Automatcally Restart", then OK your way out of it.

Are you trying to use Drag to Disc? If you are trying to burn a 'video' DVD, D2D will not create the proper format.

If I drag one folder at a time and then try to close the DVD so it will read on and device. I get an error that says the DVD could not be completed.
