I wish to copy several of the small DVD-RW made on my Handycam onto one regular size DVD-RW. However Copy Disk of the EMC-8 will only copy one before finalizing and ejecting the large DVD-RW.

Also I tried to copy the small disks to my hard drive as Images and then Drag to Disk two or more of the images onto the large DVD-RW but again after one image is copied the program closes, finalizes, and ejects the large DVD-RW. As I understand if I reinsert the large DVD it will be reformated and become a blank wirtable disk.

My computer is a year old Gateway laptop and will write DVD+/_RW, and CD.

Any help will be appreciated.

A DVD Movie is a special format set to international standards so that it will be playable in various Players.

You are thinking in terms of simple computer files and this is not what a DVD Movie is…

I suggest you first copy the VIDEO_TS folder from the mini DVDs to your HD.

Then open MyDVD and Add Title. Navigate to one of the VIDEO_TS folders and select the file called VIDEO_TS.IFO. An option to pick the movie will appear.

Do this with each of your mini's creating a menu button for each.

Keep in mind a 4.7gb DVD holds about 1 hour of movies.

This method will not allow you Edit the movies but you can create Chapters.

If you need to edit, you will have to import the movies first using Media Import.

An image file is also a special type of file. When you tell it to create a disc from an image file, that's what it's going to do, create a duplicate disc, with the files in the .ISO image in the same position on the new disc. The image starts at the beginning of the disc. When you try to put a second one to disc, that part of the disc is full and you can't reuse it.

For you purposes, you'll need to do as James said, and essentially re-edit all the clips from the multiple discs into a single video project.

Good luck!
