Disc copier is not opening from applications, it shows the screen loading and after about 2 minutes the screen goes off. If i go in task manager in process it's running. I tried to search for that problem in the forums but no luck. But i did find something in the knowledge base ID Number 7000028 where it says to manually register the Disc Copier (dragon Engine) DLL Files. http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/EE7000028.
But it didn't work either. Any help would be apreciate!

Update the drivers for that onboard video chip that you have. I don't know if it will help or not. You are better off getting a standalone video card.

This is not an onboard video card, This is an ati agp all in wonder 9000 with the latest driver available. I updated this afternoon to no avail.

With 64 MB of memory, it isn't going to work. You need to get a better video card.

Wow--I never knew that the video card had anything at all to do with the Disc Copier function--go figure! I just double checked the system requirements for EMC 9.0 and it doesn't say anywhere that a 64 mb video card will not work. In fact there is no on-board memory requirement associated with the video requirements--although I'm sure for video editing this detail is important!

I'm looking at your computer specs and I see two DVD burners listed. Is this correct? Maybe Disc Copier doesn't know which one is the primary copy source and which is the burner? Is there a way to tell EMC which is the primary and which is the slave drive?

Could you try something? When I put a music disc in my DVD drive and a blank disc in my DVD burner, Windows brings up a box asking what I want to do. One of the options is to copy the disc using Roxio 9.0. Do you get this too? If you select this option can you copy the disc this way? I know this isn't making the program work properly, but it might be a way to copy discs until the original glitch can be fixed. Good luck!

Have you tried loading Disc Copier from the Start menu?
Start>Programs>Roxio EMC 9>Copy>Disc Copier

That's what i think about the video card for disc copier, i was going to try to return the product to the store, stating that the system requirement didn't mention anything about that. I do have 2 DVD burners the HP is the Primary and i never had that problem before with version 7 and 8. I did try inserting a music Cd in and it give me a choice and when i choose copy with Disc copier nothing happen. As for the question from GGRUSSEL it does work that way: menu, copy, copy disc but it's not the real disc copier.

Thanks for your reply

Josee--I have one more idea before you try to return this software. Did you run a Roxio repair? Maybe Disc Copier didn't get installed correctly the first time. When you put in your installation CD you'll get a choice to modify, repair, or uninstall. You could also choose modify and check to see if Disc Copier actually is installed or you can choose repair and see if that fixes the problem.

Let's get a wee bit more info. What are you trying to copy? Is it a video DVD or a data DVD? Are you copying from a .ISO file? Or a MyDVD project file?

If all you're doing is copying a Data DVD, then the video card indeed doesn't have anything to do with it. So, what are you working with?

And what do you mean that Gary's instructions don't open the "real" disc copier? You didn't go to "Home" first, did you? He said Start -> Programs -> EMC 9 -> Copy -> Disc copier

This is the ONLY Disc Copier that I will use. If you are using the Disc Copy function from the Home Page, that is Record Now from Sonic which is totally different technology. Below is THE DISC COPIER that I was talking about.

I know, i was talking about the Record now from the home page. I tried with Start, Programm, EMC9, Copy, Disc Copier, and all i get is a square screen with disc copier on it for about 2 minutes, then it goes off. I tried a clean install but same problem, also i noticed that my computer was running kind of slow, so i decided to do an image recovery with Norton Ghost to a Backup i made before installing Emc9 and my computer is back to normal. So i'm not sure if i will try to reinstall it unless someone has some kind of advice for me.

Thanks for your help!
