i used version 6 with no problems,when i installed vers 9, it reads all my discs,but says they are all read only discs,and will not allow drag and drop ???
any help out there please ??

It should… I have packet written discs from V5, V6 & V7 that all read/write with V9.
There is one simple reason that may be the issue. When V6 was current, Quick Format was vogue. Since then it has dropped off the face of the earth. If you used QF on a disc and put it into a newer burner that doesn't support QF, the result is a Read Only disc.
Of course packet writing is the least reliable form of burning ever devised. It should never be used as a form of backup!
About all you can do, is format some new discs and copy the files over from your old ones.

Or better yet, copy all the files from the formatted disc to your HD, then write them back to your disc as a Data CD/DVD using Creator classic and avoid the risks that packet writing poses.
