I solved the problem with being unable to install sp34919 patch on incompatible HP models. I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop with Windows XP Media Center-SP2. After installing Windows Media Player 11, I started having the "mediahub.exe" runtime errors. When I tried installing sp34919, I would get an error message that my system was incompatible with the patch. The following method solved my problem.

Here's what to do:
1.) Download and save (Do not Install) HP ServicePack sp34919.exe. The file size is 81MB and must be an updated version of Sonic DigitalMedia 7.
Here is the link: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/CO...3-1/sp34919.exe

Read Carefully
2.) Run sp34919.exe. The Install Shield Window will open. Click Next, Accept EULA by checking the bullet and click Next.

IMPORTANT - STOP at this point of the installation! It will ask you to "Please select "Yes" to proceed with the update", BUT STOP at this point and do not make a selection.

You now need to find the file that has just been extracted by the installer. If you continue with the install, the file you need will be deleted by the installer itself when it completes and you will not be able to save the file you need.
3.)Now search for the extracted file: Click "Start" and "Search" to begin a search for the file. Search "All files and folders", check "More advanced options" and check "Search hidden files and folders. Search for "2061" without the quotes. I found a file named Data2061HPU.exe, but ONLY search for "2061" because it may have a slightly different name. I found the file in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\pft62.tmp\DMPSource.
4.) Save a copy of "xxx2061xxx.exe" file to your desktop or in a folder you can locate. After you retrieve and save a copy of "xxx2061xxx.exe", you can cancel the installer.
5.)Now run the copy of the file "xxx2061xxx.exe" you just saved! This will allow you to install the patch on any model and hopefully solve the incompatibility problem with Windows Media Player 11!

Hope this helps!

UPDATE - You can also download and install "7-Zip" (search Google), then extract the files from sp34919.exe and run the patch from there.

DIRTY DVDs or CDs will cause most DVD Rippers to stop. If you have been copying DVDs from DVD rental stores then you would have picked up a lot of crap from those DVDs which would have transferred to your Optical Read & Write device. You know what you have to do from here!

What does an illegal rip have to do with the OPS problem?

After I installed Media Player 11, I got similar problems as discussed.
Trying to install patch http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...eriesId=3232029 from HP support with no success. After save and run it I got error message, something about incompatibility with my PC
(I am having HP Pavilion dv6000, product dv6105us). Not clear how to select correct patch.
After deinstalling Media Player 11 and rolling back to MP10, it is now better, at least Sonic not showing error messages and burning CDs. But burning not working now with DL DVDs, showing error at the very end of the process.
Any more ideas or similar experience?
Thanks.

Try what purchasesforjw said. It let me install the sp34919 thing even though my laptop was saying my laptop did not meet the requirements or whatever. I think this would solve your problem. Use the 7-zip method. It's easier. Or I could just email you the file if you want. Email me if you want it.

You are responding to a post that is 18 months old from a hit&run poster. I doubt you will get any response.

It seems sonic just doesnt give a #$^@ about this issue..It's all a scheme to force us to upgrade to media creator 9 ! Im wondering if this error will still happen when windows vista is installed or if maybe a new version of windows media player will fix this problem ..

I think you might just be right, rabbit!

I have used Sonic DigitalMedia Plus v7 in the past with no problem. It came pre-packaged on a HP laptop I purchased in Jan 2007. It worked fine until very recent.

Suddenly I get the error message stating, 'There was an error writing the image to your hard drive. Please make sure you have 4.3 GB free on any one of your hard drives, then try the copy again.' I'm using windows XP as was installed on my puter.

After reading some of the complaints on the Sonic/roxio site, the problem reeks of a scam.

Will purchase an external hard-drive from a more reputable company today an delete the sonic/roxio hardware from my puter support is sent soon.

sirraph - did you notice you are replying to a TWO YEAR OLD post?

If "It worked fine until very recent" that implies there has been a change to your computer - new software or updates or hardware.

Since Microsoft has made a number of changes to WinXP in the intervening two years, if you want help you should be starting your OWN thread with info about your computer; and changes made to it since that last time the program worked.

And since you come across as being not very knowlegable about user Forums - this is a user Forum; rarely to Roxio/Sonic staff come by.

Also (to add to what Lynn has said) you have what is called a OEM version of Roxio. All Support for OEM's comes from the supplier of the program (in your case HP). So if you want to complain, get a hold of HP it is THEIR software.

Just downloaded a patch that seemed to solve the problem on my Dell. There were instructions on the page for other versions...

http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Creator/000058MD

I know I'm over two years late in saying this, but THANK YOU for posting this fix!!! smile.gif

I only recently noticed problems with the Sonic DigitalMedia applications on my Dell (I rarely use them). With a little futzing around I was able to get everything working properly again...EXCEPT for the runtime error message when trying to shut down the program. I found your link, downloaded the patch...and was back in business! (Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 is another story altogether. Can't get it to burn a disc anymore!)
