I have Sonic DigitalMedia Plus v7 Build: 2.4.33a pre-installed on my HP dv8000t laptop. Burned dozens of DVDs with no problems for months. Over the last few days, during burning- process stops around half way through. The program exits, and I get 3 dialog boxes-

1...

Mediahub.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x0076215f" referenced at "0x1e2cfbab". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program

2...

Mediahub.exe - Application Error

The instruction at "0x00000000" referenced at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program

3...

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!
Program: ...ommon Files\Sonic Shared\Sonic Central\Main\Mediahub.exe
R6025
-pure virtual function call

...
If I run the app and then exit without doing anything, I get the same 3 dialog boxes- with different hex values in the first box.

I have uninstalled and re-installed twice, including a "clean" re-install as outlined elsewhere in this forum. I contacted HP on their live chat, and they have no useful suggestions.

I went through anything that looked helpful (searched for "mediahub" and "R6025" in Google) and followed some of the suggestions I found including driver update for my GSA-4084N drive- mine was current/ made sure DMA was enabled- it was/ and I am using media that I have used before with no difficulties.

Thank you in advance for any help on this frustrating issue!

A little update...

Based on another post, I tried rolling back WMP 11 to WMP 10. Ran the app, and the same thing happened- just after burning about half, the process stopped and I got this data dump from the "advanced" info button:

Sense: 02 ASC: 04 ASCQ: 08 (Command 00)
-------------------------------------------------------
Px.dll: 2.7.27.500
pxdrv.dll: 1.1.67.0
PxMas.dll: 2.7.27.500
PxSFS.DLL: 2.7.27.500
PxWave.dll: 2.7.27.500
pxwma.dll: 1.0.0.3

BTW- I am running XP Pro and Norton Internet Security 10.0
Turning off Norton does not seem to make a difference...
Still running IE 6.0- never attempted to upgrade to 7.0

Strangely- since rolling back WMP, I do not get the 3 dialog boxes with error messages upon exiting the app, but I still cannot burn a DVD.

Thanks again...

Those "PX" errors can usually be fixed by running the PX Engine update. Try this one

I'm having a very similar problem and have looked all over the Internet with no solution. I have been burning in DVDs and CDs since March of this year. I use them to back up my files. Now I have no way of doing that, as my Roxio comes up the following message and then closes, when I click OK (the only option):

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Buffer overrun detected!
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Shared\Sonic Central\Main\Mediahub.exe

Then I have to click OK and the Roxio window closes...

Why doesn't Roxio have a solution for this? I've checked all their forums, and left them e-mail as well. They had a patch for a similar problem, on one of the forums, but it doesn't help this problem. They don't answer any e-mail...
Hope Roxio will come up with a solution to this. The Roxio was insatalled with Mediacenter on my Sony computer.

I purchased a Sony laptop with Roxio MediaCenter pre-installed, I've found out that the MediaCenter is not compatible with Windows Media Player 11, so once I rolled-back to WMP 10 its now working perfectly. If you haven't installed WMP11 then I guess it'll mean that you may need to use another program for burning or if you have got WMP11 on take it off. sad.gif

Thanks for the reply, highroyds. I have Windows Media 10 installed, so I guess it's a bye bye to Roxio from me. Too bad. I have been using their products since before they were owned by Roxio. I was using one of the earliest versions of Adaptec Easy CD Creater when I first had a CD burner. It's a shame that Roxio can't get a fix for this problem. I tried their Roxanne program for help and it didn't have a clue what to do. I tried to check with support, but it looks like they wanted $35 to help. If I'm wrong about that let me know how I can get help from them, without the charge. My Roxio software came with my Sony Media Center computer, which I've had only since early this year. There should be free support for that. Sony has been on the phone with me for hours, over the last few weeks. They tried all they could to fix this Roxio software problem. It's still not working.

Getting this same problem on my HP Pavilion media center PC.

Anybody found a solution to this problem? Definitely a conflict with WMP 11 and DigitalMedia Plus v7 after upgrading wmp. When I roll back to WMP 10, to memory errors on DigitalMedia program termination disappear.

I think its because they want people to upgrade to the latest Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite, thats why they're not bothered about users and their problems with WMP11 and Digital Media Hub.

I've installed WMP11 on my XP box and have seen the errors you're receiving but only when I close the software. While annoying, it doesn't seem to be causing problems anywhere else and isn't a major priority. Nevertheless, I have written up a bug report. It may be as simple as changing a registry entry, I'm just not sure at this point. If you're experiencing problems elsewhere because of WMP11 please let me know exact steps on how to reproduce.

Thanks

It's most likely a simple registry key that you might have to delete to get rid of the error everytime you close digitalmedia but the problem is trying to find the key ..I talked to sonic support on the phone and they told me to revert to wmp 10 or upgrade to easy media creator 9 and i told them i didnt want to do it and asked them if they are gonna come out with a patch and they said they didnt see anything in the horizon..Ive tell you sonic is a bunch of greedy bastards and im really angry at them ! After i paid good money for the digitalmedia deluxe 7 version for them to tell me this ! mad.gif

The only hope i guess that might fix it would be for windows media player 11 to come out with an updated version and hopefully that would get rid of the error just like it does when you roll back to wmp 10 ! Hopefully there are some people outside oif sonic working on a fix for this..

GeorgeB- Same for me on Registration/Log-in- No Email Ever Arrvd!!; Set-up/Used wife's Email Address name and it worked/Wonder if a Hotmail address use is taboo-Try a new address there. There is a $30 Special for DigitalMedia Studio Deluxe 7 (not Suite) that's normally $100 - Is that a potential Upgrade Solution to the problem? Says 10GB required, 20+GB better, and I don't know how much is Application and how much is for perceived Temp Storage as you work with Video, etc. FYI

So far the only fix is to revert back to WMP10 and not to use WMP11 with it.

The only other solution that nobody likes it to purchase the next version of the software.

They are just getting like M$.

All,
My Sonic Digital Media Deluxe version 6.1.3 was running fine until I installed the new Windows MediaPlayer 11 and IE v7. I uninstalled IE 7 because of error messages which cured some error messages but then I got the Runtime Mediahub.exe R6025 message we're all talking about. I uninstalled MediaPlayer 11 and rolled back to version 9, now everthing works as it should with no errors. I tried installing MPlayer 10, but it didn't work for me. Try out MPlayer 9, it should work for you too.

Kevin et al,
Your reply is a bit to nonchalant and blase' for a Rep of a large company such as Roxio. I understand you cannot test all software applications as they release but do so only when a certain percentage of your users experience the same problem. Your message implies "no big deal", if this is so and it is trivial, it should take minimal effort to analyze and fix. No?

I agree with "George B", we consumers have paid good, hard earned money for your company's product and expect reasonable level of customer service/care. The kind of service that helps us know that the issue has been escalated inside Roxio and you are doing some testing to resolve now. This is good business if you want returning customers and to win new ones.

It seems sonic just doesnt give a #$^@ about this issue..It's all a scheme to force us to upgrade to media creator 9 ! Im wondering if this error will still happen when windows vista is installed or if maybe a new version of windows media player will fix this problem ..

Sure, I got the same problems as you guys. I have to roll back WMP 11 to WMP 10. It works fine now. It costed me 10hrs to discuss with technican, uninstall, install, restart, system restore, play with registry editor and pc management sort of things. It also damaged my data in an appendable DVD. I am also having a problem burning DVDs. I have an HPm7277c MediaCenter PC with Sonic DigitalMedia Plus v7, build 2.6.21b and an HP DVD Writer 840b (LightScribe) drive. This software came pre-installed on my PC. In March of 2006 I installed Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 on the PC. Up until last month, I was able to burn DVDs and CDs without any problem at all using either Sonic or Roxio software. Then all of a sudden when burning DVDs it would abort 90% of the time in the "burn" phase or most often the "verify" phase. I updated the firmware on the drive to the latest version and also upgraded the Sonic software to the latest version (both updates from HP). Now I can't get it to burn anything on this drive. I tried various brands of blank DVDs (even HP) and also various types (DVD+R/DVD-R). It can't burn any. Also ripping from audio CDs is very slow. I don't get any error messages, it just aborts and shows some sense information and the version of various dll's.

I then connected my external Plextor DVD Writer USB/Firewire drive (which was connected to my laptop) via fireware connection to my HP PC. Using the same Sonic software it burns perfectly every time to the Plextor drive. It has never failed on this drive.

I contacted HP figuring the HP internal drive is bad but they want me to recover the system and then test it before I install any application. They say if it works then it is not the drive. I asked if it is a software problem how come it burns perfectly to the external Plextor drive. The tech explained that the drives may be using different burning protocols when conversing with Windows and that maybe a codex or something got messed up. I have to think long and hard about recovering my PC since it will take many hours to get it back to the current level.

HP have just released a fix that can be found at the following link: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...Item=vc-46568-1

Just install it, say yes to all the questions. Initial testing that we carried out shows that this patch has successfully fixed this problem for us. It now successfully works alongside Windows Media Player 11

This morning I executed the program and had the same issue as many of you have shared. I went to the Roxio web site immediately, registered an account and contacted tech support. The first live chat was with customer service, not tech support as I thought; however, the agent provided me with the link to get to the correct site.

Upon chatting with an agent in technical support, he confirmed that Windows Media Player 11 was the issue and sent a link to revert back to Version 10. There was also instruction for re-registering the dll, which I tried without success. So I went to "start," "control panel," "add/remove programs" and clicked on "Windows Media Player 11" then "remove."

I received a window indicating it would be reverted back to version 10 as that was the previous version installed on this computer, which I have had for three months. I clicked "ok" and the reversion began. Upon completion, I clicked "restart" as directed.

The final test...opening Sonic and closing it to see what happened - no error messages.

A side note - about a year ago I had major issues with Sony Click to DVD. After running recovery several times I finally narrowed it down - it was my internet software (MSN) conflicting with the program. As the program was well over 3 years old, I did not reinstall it during the final recovery but instead purchased a new Sony program, which has worked fine.

Sometimes we hear others talk of how important it is to update software. In this case, as in the Sony program I just mentioned, I believe sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone and if programs are working fine, don't upgrade. I am not a computer expert; this is just my own personal opinion on the matter. However, I felt it important to share my positive experience with Roxio's tech support as I see others did not have such good luck with either registering their account or with obtaining prompt information.

Hope this helps...

Sony VAIO users rejoice. There is a fix available that resolves several issues, including the WMP11 problems.

I also have the HP ZD8000 laptop which came with DigitalMediaPlus v7. I am experiencing the same issues reflected here in these posts, but can perhaps add some useful info. For months I never knew I had the problem because I never tried to make a disc copy.

I decided to buy the latest version 9 EMC, as I already had a bunch of projects in the old version, and figured I should get them current. As I soon discovered, EMC 9 was not backwards compatible to my DigitalMediaPlus ver 7projects anyway. At that time however, I finally decided to plug in my HP Dual TV Tuner/DVR that came with the laptop. It had never been installed before.

Seeing as I now needed to make a bunch of copies of a DVD for a ski trip I went on, I uninstalled the new software and went back to DigitalMedia
Once I tried, I got the .dll errors and wrote the errors off to old software on a "newer" OS with all XP updates current.

But I really needed the copy function to work. I tried rolling back my system...
Then I happened to try and copy a "master disc"..and it worked..So was it the rollback? I think partly...

The first thing is Roxios instructions: they say, you can make a copy of any MASTER that is not copy protected. What you will find is, a "master" is the first DVD you make from your project. If at project time you indicate you want to make say, 5 copies of the DVD, the very FIRST one you create is your "master". And you won't be able to make a copy from the 2nd thru the 5th disc. This was the case for me. Roxio just quit with an unknown error and told me to check my disc for scratches, etc..Once I reinserted the true "master" it made the copy...

So thinking I had that problem solved, I went ahead and reinstalled my HP Dual TV Tuner/DVR. I immediately tried to make a copy of the same "master" disc...This time, I saw the .dll errors
Also noticed that my firewire connection would no longer recognize my digital movie camera (which it has recognized consistently prior to the Dual TV tuner install).

I don't think Media Player is at fault in every instance. But I will now go back and see which version I use, see if it was in place before the rollback, and see if it was installed as part of Media Center Update.

Just downloaded a patch that seemed to solve the problem on my Dell. There were instructions on the page for other versions...

After I installed Media Player 11, I got similar problems as discussed.
Trying to install patch http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...eriesId=3232029 from HP support with no success. After save and run it I got error message, something about incompatibility with my PC
(I am having HP Pavilion dv6000, product dv6105us). Not clear how to select correct patch.
After deinstalling Media Player 11 and rolling back to MP10, it is now better, at least Sonic not showing error messages and burning CDs. But burning not working now with DL DVDs, showing error at the very end of the process.
Any more ideas or similar experience?
Thanks.

Just wanted to drop a line to say that I had this issue as well, but the HP update called Sonic Digital Media Plus/Deluxe Application Update sp34919 (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechS...eriesId=3232029) finally did the trick for me. No more weird errors, and I get to continue using WMP 11. smile.gif

I'm having trouble with Sonic DigitalMedia LE v7(Pre-installed on my Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop), every time I go to burn a DVD, I get an error message window pop up saying Sonic has encountered a problem and needs to close, then it just hangs/freezes. I'm running XP Home, btw.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and I'm still having problems burning DVD's. Is there a fix for this?

All,
My Sonic Digital Media Deluxe version 6.1.3 was running fine until I installed the new Windows MediaPlayer 11 and IE v7.

I have also had the same problems.
It first started with just the application errors upon exiting the program.
However, a new problem has come up. When I try to make the disc compatible - the blue screen comes
up saying that windows has to shut down to protect itself. ........
Now I'm concern if I'm harming the computer if I continue to burn CD's/DVD's & having it shut down.

I have a Dell Dimension E510 Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 640 w/HT Technology (3.2GHz,800FSB)
Operating System Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition
Memory 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 400MHz (4x256M)
CD ROM/DVD ROM Dual Drives: 16x DVD-ROM Drive + 16x DVD+/-RW w/dbl layer write capability

I doubt you paid that "hard earned money" very recently - it is a 2004 program, at least according to the info in the copy on my computer.

IE 7 and WinPlayer 11 are made for Vista, and make changes deep inside the Operating Sytem, and derails a LOT of software, not just Roxio and Sonic software. Software from 2004 and an Operating Sytem from 2007 are not guaranteed to play nicely together.

If you want Vista compatible components (IE 7, WinPlayer 11), you need to use Vista compatible software with it.

(Did you notice Kevin hasn't been with the company for a few years?)

Lynn

BTW - if you want to make a reply, you are better-off NOT enclosing it within the quote codes, which makes it look like you are merely quoting someone else. You might want to edit your post.

Seriously, thats poor quality service by Roxio. (Unable to register my product to have support, no patchs for real customers, no explanation...)

Thanks to you guys, your help is very appreciated.

Your explanations were perfecly right for me installing the HP patch + uninstall the WMP11 for WMP10.

A lot of reading and configuring but IT WORKS!!!!

Dear Lynn,
Most of us do not follow the inner depths and hidden mechanisms of these sites so no I didn't notice that Kevin hasn't been with the company for a while. Hopefully, the software is clean enough that only an occasional visit to these types of sites is necessary. As for the "hard earned money" not being very recent, hah! Last year I went to buy Version 6 from a Tivo ad and was sent to Sonic and offered version 7 as their latest and greatest. After purchasing version 7, when I went to get the password to activate it. I was then offered the new latest and greatest version (9 or 10 I don't remember) for only another $49/$59. So Considering that HP had to figure out how to fix this problem and my experience with purchasing this version - No I am not impressed with Sonic's customer care attitude.

Oh the HP fix worked great.

While I was downloading the fix, I went to another HP site that sent me to a Roxio site titled: C++ Runtime error citing "mediahub.exe" Didn't know that this was a C++ problem. So guess that is why I could not find, nor were we referred to the Roxio's site.
