Edited a video, each part plays fine in Videowave, outputted to MPG2 for DVD (better quality) with Normalize Sound on then Normalize Sound off- both produced video with NO SOUND ?!

OK tried "generic MPEG" and sound was ok (but the file was even bigger than the original unedited file): what's the difference between Generic and DVD MPEGs?
