Hi all I am at my wits end here and need some advice please.
When I try to use roxio the application will start but then i get error messages.first being instruction at referenced memory could not be written click ok to terminate which gives new message
same as above but ending in memeory could not be wriiten which then gives
"...........encountered an error and needs to close" message.
Microsoft Online error report kicks in.
After I send up pops the "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" error.
It refers to "Programme Commonfiles\sonicshared\soniccentral\main\ mediahub.exe" and lists "R6025-pure virtual function call".
what can i do ??
have tried fresh install/restoring computer to earlier date when this problem wasnt on computer

Have you upgraded to MS, IE7? This will break EMC7 and the only way out is to rollback to IE6.

eerily familiar messages...
but, it seems to me that it is a conflict with Windows Media Player 11 - not IE7, at least with some other Roxio/Sonic products...
MediaHub.exe and C++ errors....
IE7 did not (on my several systems) cause any conflict - only when WMP11 installed, did they manifest. Rollback to WMP9 or WMP10 temporarily works around getting the errors...but an actual "fix" would really be nice...I'm seeing these same errors reported on multiple forums (both here, and at 3rdParty/OEM sites).

BOTH of them cause problems - and not just with Roxio s/w
I agree a fix would be nice - but it's up to MS because they are the ones who broke the thing
I installed visual studio c++ express 8 from msdn which is a program for creating games and playing them on x-box 360 and the pure virtual function error went away. They suggested uninstalling .net framework, and the program is around 285mb,so it's a big fix for a small problem, but work from this information and maybe we'll get it figured out.

Strange - actually .NET is required for EMC9
I've had both 1.1 on my machine since v7 with no ill effects and now have .NET 2 and again no problems with 8 or 9
Maybe a version of .net framework is included with visual studio c++ which would explain the suggested uninstall ,but something in visual studio is fixing emc, can we narrow down what it is, and use it as a fix.

I've the 6 month trial version of Visual Studio 2005 (uninstalled as yet) and just checked on the installation CD
dotNET 2 is included - whether or not that is the problem I can't say for certain but you could try uninstalling it from add/remove programs (I have three entries in mine - 1.1, 1.1 hotfix and 2 (I never got the courage to stick in 3 beta yet)
