Why can I compress the entire DVD with extras, but when I try to extract the main feature, it says it can't compress the video_ts?

Stupid friend put a 'out-takes' in our wedding video. My wife's mother isn't going to like what's there...

Shouldn't be a problem. There are two ways to do this.

Option 1: Insert the DVD and select the DVD video from VIDEO_TS option in the Toast Video window. Add the DVD's VIDEO_TS folder. Click Options. Choose Main title only. Now choose Save as Disc Image. Toast creates a disc image file that you can burn to disc using the Image File setting in the Toast Copy window.

Option 2: Insert the original DVD and choose DVD video in the Toast Video window. Go to the Media Browser. Choose DVD with the browser's top button. When the DVD appears in the lower window, go down one level with the lower button. The individual titles appear. Now drag any titles you want to to the Video window. When they are finished being extracted you can eject the DVD. Now set up the menu the way you want and proceed to burn your DVD.

I have already tried option 1. This is where my real question comes in. When I select Main Title Only, and try to save the image, it begins the compression and extraction. During the process, I see the image on my desktop. As soon as it gets to 0:00 remaining, an error pops up and says Cannot Compress VIDEO_TS, then stops. The image is gone. Any idea why this one would not work?

This is what I would LIKE to do.

Again, if I compress the entire disk, it works fine.

I will try the second option when I get home tonight.

Sorry, I can't think of any reason why it would allow compression of the entire disc but not of the main feature only. Hopefully the other process will work.
