I bought this online, as a download, and the download time is 1 hour 10 minutes as I'm on dial up but the download never gets beyond 9 minutes, then it tells me it's complete - which it obviously isn't as the size of the download that has been downloaded is far smaller than the actual download. I've tried downloading over and over again but can't get past the 9 minutes barrier and if I try to open the icon on my desktop I get a message telling me that the file is corrupted, and I must redownload. sad.gif Will I just have to wait until the back up disc I also ordered online arrives, or can someone suggest a way I can get my download to actually download? I have Windows XP Home edition.

If it is at the same spot all the time, time wise, I would suspect your dial up is disconnecting for lack of activity. Check your DUN settings to make sure it never disconnects.

My connection isn't disconnecting, Marlin. In fact, I can stay online long enough to attempt 4 or 5 redownloads but each time the download begins slowly - creeping along - then it suddenly shoots along to the end of the indicator bar indicating that the whole file has been downloaded and yet it hasn't. No more than 2 MB is ever downloaded.

Not sure what to have you try.
Is what is downloaded always the same size?
Have you tried saving anywhere other than to your desktop? I usually save to a special directory, although it shouldn't matter.
What I had mentioned before, is the only thing that really burned me when I had dial-up.

Yes, the download is always the same size, Marlin. 2MGB's. I've just tried saving it in programmes instead of on my Desktop as you suggested, but the same thing has happened. Only 2 MGB's were dowloaded, and when I tried to open the application, I got the same message as before
<<The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The excutable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of this file, verify it's integrity, and try again>>
I guess I'll just have to wait for the CD and hope it works, but this is so frustrating. I've never had a problem downloading a programme. Things like Norton and Zone Alarm installed perfectly.
Thanks for the suggestions, anyway, and 'Slainte!' from the north of Scotland

Sorry I couldn't help. It does sound as though the site you are downloading from is having a problem. I am wondering if each download is created for a specific serial/activation code and something happened when yours was built. Hope you can get it fixed soon.
