D2D only works with Formatted Optical Media. You cannot possibly use it to transfer files to an MP3 Player!
Some have reported reboots and or BSOD with using D2D in V9. I have seen 2, BSOD's but made 20 some writes and erasures to DVD & CD after the last one without a problem.
D2D is a packet writer and no packet writer has ever been called
reliable… It should never be used for any sort of backup or archive!
Most users do not need it and can remove it through the Control Panel – Add/Remove Programs.
If you have occasional use, it can be disable from startup through MSCONFIG. You can always start it manually through the Start Menu.
If you are a D2D user, I have a summary of Tips,
here, you may find of use.

No no no, I didn't use it to transfer the files, I simply used windows explorer like I usually do to drag files and drop them into my player. Since disabling D2D seems to work fine.
