Full Version: Video wrong size

I just did my first transfer. I noticed when I played it back that the video was distorted. It's not wide enough. I went on just trying to figure things out and made my way to exporting to Toast and creating an iPod file. I noticed in the Toast window that the video was 480x480. That's not right. Anyone else files like this? I'm exporting the file to the iPod 320x240 which I'm sure will end up being right. BUT, there's going to be a loss of quality b/c of the initial rendering in the wrong size and if I just want to play it back through the Tivo software, it won't show up correctly. Any thoughts?

480x480 is the correct size. That is what your Tivo is recording. Some record in a larger format also. 320x240 is the limit for iPod exporting. This is a Tivo limitation.

oh, I just figured it out. I get HD content, but the Tivo records it and then during play back it stretches it back out so it plays in the correct dimensions.

PS. That bites that Tivo records at 480x480.... why? Very strange.
