Running Microsoft Adviser on my system it reports that "This program might have minor compatabilty issues after upgrading to Windows Vista. Is there/will there be a a software update soon does anyone know?

Very doubtful that the 'lite' version of any preinstalled software will be updated. I'd contact the company where you got the software from.
So far, only the full version of EMC9 will be compatible with Vista when it's publicly released.
