It seems everytime I try to run Classic Creator after it has been installed for a short time, I receive a few problems that annoy me. The program loads just fine (it seems). AS I go throiugh my system to gather what I want to insert into the area for burning, the program has trouble loading folders with a large nmber of files inside it. The program then hangs and crashes. I haver gone through the whole thing of doing a manual uninstall with steps to clean my registry of entries pertaining to EMC9 program. I re-install EM9 and lo and behold Classic Creator goes awry. Any ideas of suggestions--since I can't seem to get any helpful feedback from Roxio(Sony) on this recurring issue.

How many files, folders and sub-folders?

You may be ruinning into the file limit problem (I can't swear to the exact number but there is a limit on the number of files per folder and also the depth of sub folders permissible)

Hmmmmm, never read anything about any of that in the program, but you could be right. I do have a very large folder where I download the brunt of my files and it does have subfolders to boot. BTW where did you gain this info about the folder size and all? Seems we get very little directly form Sony/Roxio about any issues no matter how we try to get answers. I have seen better tech support than we receive here and one would think, for the money, we should receive at least some kind of support.

You might want to take a look at this thread. It has some information regarding file and folder sizes.

Frank: In that thread I was aiming at Drag to Disc and did not spell out the limits…

If you are using Joliet the limits are as follows:

Filename – 64 characters max
Pathname – 128 characters (full path + filename)
8 subdirectories max
4gb file length limit

The way around this in Classic is to go into Settings and switch to UDF, No Bridge. I also prefer to clear the checkmark by Validate.
