huh.gif Just learning EMC9 after upgrading from 7.5.

I'm creating a slideshow in Videowave, but when I add an mp3 file as background audio there is no sound when I click Play to preview what I have so far. What am I doing wrong?

Oops, my bad. I was a little to quick with this. After posting I went back and converted my mp3 file to a wav file and it works just fine. My bad, my bad.

MP3 files should work fine.

Yes, they should. And now that you mention it, they did in a previous production done shortly after I received the program. Any idea why mp3 files would stop working in Videowave. Experimentally I tried other mp3 tracks also, but none of them produced any sound on previewing the production.

Have you tried clearing the proxy files before adding the mp3 file? Just go to Tools - > Options and clear the temp proxy files.

Video Wave seems to be a bit picky when it comes to mp3 files -- number of bits and bit rate, HiMAT compliant or not, etc. You did the right thing by using Sound Editor to convert them to a wav file. smile.gif

Yeah, it's like "whatever works" right?
