Hello everyone. I have an issue I can't figure out. I have a new Canon DC100 DVD camera. It has the ability to record 16:9 video, not HD, just 16:9. I can finalize the disk, and import the files, but Media Import app always converts the video to 4:3. I can't seem to get it to keep the original aspect ratio.

I have tried to simply open the .VOB files, but when I select the file, the import box shows nothing to import.

In VideoWave, go to File, click on new production, and set it as 16:9. Use Media Selector to bring in your .vob files.

I tried adding the file, assuming just drag and drop, but it says "One or more files can not be edited, so they won't be added."

I can add a .JPG just fine. The .VOB is on my desktop, so I don't see why it is telling me that. Unless my camera did something weird with the file.

Well, I tried it again, this time from the DVD, and it pulled it off. But again, it changed it to 4:3.

Ugh!

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I've tried other programs and they all do the same thing (convert the 16:9 video into 4:3)

Thanks,
Richard
