I am trying install Roxio 9 on a new HP a1700n with Vista premium.

I had downloaded it , but then tried to uninstall it to stop the sonic solutions dla error message and to just load what i wanted to use. Now when i try to load it goes then stops to tell me to load the disk which is already in.

I looked around and i saw the roxio still had a folder in my programs that had drag to disk , virtual drive 9 in there and it will not let me delete it. It says i do not have permission to do that.

And suggestions for my problem?

Now when i try to install EMC 9 i get this message: windows explorer (process ID: 4076) is running and needs to be shut down. I can't see where or how to do this.

Roxio 9 is very buggy software for Windows Vista. Your best bet is to use the RESTORE function of Windows and go back to before you installed EMC 9 in the first place.

Then re-install it. Immediately go to Control Panel and remove Roxio Drag to Drive software, as that is defective software for Roxio.

That should work for you. It did for me.

Actually, if you read round you'll find that the defect is a Microsoft update that caused the problem.

Saying that, I'd strongly recommend that D2D be removed anyway as its reliability is on a par with an igloo on the Equator for data storage

Ahhh, but you can include Nero's InCD, the old Sonic DLA, and any other packet writing software. They are all equally unreliable methods of backing up important data.

I finally got it out and reinstalled EMC 9. I immediately took out drag to disk and now all is well. No more Sonic DLA messages.
