Hi,

I used to be able to capture video from my JVC camcorder w/no problems, but I can no longer do this. I click on "capture video" and it just brings me right back to the same screen. I found a similar post from back in February indicating that it might be from installing Windows Media Player version 11. I have this version - don't remember downloading it, but I have it. Now that I may have ID'd my problem, I don't know how to fix it. I tried to reply to that post, but it told me that I couldn't. Your help is appreciated.

Just go to the Control Panel,Add/Remove and uninstall it.When it does it should rollback to WMP10.

You can also try, using Microsoft's instructions on how to roll back.

Well I tried rolling back to the previous version of Windows Media Player using Microsofts instructions, but it did not help. No matter how I try to launch Media Import 8, it won't work. Any other ideas? It's been a long time since I last used Roxio - probably about a year or so - but it worked very well then. Thanks again. -Jeff

Check in case you have also installed Internet Explorer 7. MS classed that as a 'critical update' and it snuck in if you didn't watch carefully, but it causes nothing but problems.

If it's there, that will come out from add/remove programs

No, I've got version 6 of IE. Any other ideas? Thank you.

I used the repair function in Add/Remove Programs and it seems to have solved my problem. Thanks everyone.

I am glad you got it working. Hopefully, it will continue to do so.
