I have the retail version of EMC 7 (Build 7.1.1.189 ENU) on my computer and want to install EMC 7.5 download version 7.5.0.47. The last time I did this was over a year ago and I don't remember exactly how.

Should I uninstall EMC7 first, or can I install over the top? I remember something about losing some of the transitions or effects packaged with EMC7 if you did a clean install.

The last time I did this, it was a nightmare and I’m hoping to avoid the some of the headaches.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It depends on if it was a full 7.5 version or the 7.5 upgrade.

For the upgrade 7.5, you have to leave 7.1 installed and install the 7.5 on top of it.

If it was a full 7.5, then you could uninstall 7.1 first, then install the 7.5 program, then the Content.

The Content installs at the same time as the Program. In 7.5, the Content disk doesn't have an .exe file like EMC 8 and EMC 9.
