The first few DVD's I have made had no chapter markers, just direct edited VHS footage and burned. I now have taped my daughters dance recital and want to create a chapter as each routine changes to the next so someone could skip to one without watching another. How do I do this?
I plan to have some kind of transition between changes and thought the chapter should start with the transition. I will be uploading the film tonight and would appreciate some tips as this will be my longest project, about 1.5 hours once edited.
Thanks in advance

Start by posting exactly what version of what product you have. You posted in the old Videowave section, so knowing the version of what product you are using will be important as to how you can do this.

These instructions are for Movie Creator.

First, you're going to want to trim down that video or put it on 2 DVDs. You're only going to get ONE hour of quality video footage onto a DVD.

Second, I don't think you can mark Chapters in Movie Creator. If you want them to be able to select different scenes, you'll have to put those scenes on the menu as separate movies.

The easy way to do that would be to capture your video manually and capture each separate scene(movie) into individual video files. Then put one movie onto a storyline, edit it, then choose 'Make' and render it to a completed movie. Repeat for each movie(chapter)

Then each separate movie can be put onto the menu in the CD/DVD maker.

OK thanks, I will try that this weekend and see what happens!
