Has anyone successfully installed 9 Deluxe on a HP 9000 with Vista Ultimate x64?

HP has a basic 9 DVD version that I unistalled when I put EMC 9 back a month ago - that installation had problems so I upgraded to EMC 9 deluxe thinking that it would solve my vista issues.

I have now done 6 clean installs (advice from tech support) each time when it installs it sees the old 9 version install and asks if I want to remove it - (please note that I have already done this with the clean install) and I then proceed with the installation.

The startup on the program takes 5 - 10 minutes to launch - and does not seem to get better each time as the posts would indicate. Also videowave when it launches indicates a config error and says for me to reinstall. When I have tried that in the past - the entire program messes up my programs and the roxio does not work at all.

Any idea / suggestion on what to do?

PS - I have been very disappointed with roxio tech support - sending me clean install links has not addressed my vista problems and they don't seem to want to respond. Will the upcoming update solve these?

Did you follow the advice in the clean install links?

Yes - I have done 6 clean installs....

Videowave continues to show a config error and asks to be reinstalled.

I haven't seen any posts from users of Vista x64 that haven't had some sort of problems. Albeit there are not many on here that use Vista x64.

It is possible the "Vista Certified" patch that's due out soon may help. I haven't seen anything yet to state it is for x64 tho, which is not a supported platform the last I saw. Only the 32 bit version of Vista.

Thanks for the comments - I have asked Roxio to comment on Vista x64 - but have only received the standard clean install link to my question.

Although I haven't put it through the ringer yet, I have EMC9 installed on a 8400Dell Demension running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I have created a small dvd with 2 music videos I created for church with a different program but I have not tried to burn it yet. I have however burnt a copy of a dvd through disk copier. The only problem I have encountered is the Activation Bug. But I was able to activate eventually. Just kept trying.

I anm running with: 3.6 P4 w/HT, 3gig ram, Nvidia 6800 w/256mb, Philips DVD+-RW DVD8631, Sony DVD ROM DDU1615

I hopes this encourages you. biggrin.gif

You might want to review the thread "64 bit compatibility of the "Windows Certified" version". To get Vista Certified the program has to be completely compatible for both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Did you try uninstalling any anti-virus/anti-spyware softwares ? Is there an error code or any indication as to what the problem might be ? Have you tried checking the Event Viewer ?
