Does anyone know why the dragon engine failed? I uninstalled easy media creator 7 and reinstalled it and it still does not work. Can anyone tell me what the problem is

Have you added anything new to the computer - specifically IE7 and/or WMP11?
If you have, both those wreck EMC7

So the best thing to do is upgrade to the creator 9. Are their any conflicts with this?

You have to install Napster. You can do it through Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down to Roxio EMC 7, and click on the Change button. Then click on the Modify button. On the next screen, click on the icon to the left of Napster, and select This feature will be installed on the local hard drive.
Reboot your computer, and once you get Creator Classic to open, you can uninstall Napster, if you so desire.

I already have napster on and it has been working recently but in the last few days it has been playing up. I will try and see what happens.

In regard to IE7 and WMP11 - best thing to do with those is to get rid of them (they're backported Vista apps and make changes to the OS kernel and mess up a lot of things)

If you do have those two on there, then follow Daithi's advice. Both of those break version 7 and version 8.
If, after you roll back to IE 6 and get rid of WMP 11, and it still doesn't work, first try a Repair of the software, and if that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall it.

Even if Napster is working, reinstalling it may fix the failed dragon engine.

I uninstalled ie7, wmp 11 and emc 7. reinstalled emc7, and dragon engine still failed. Unable to use drag to disc, is there any reason why it does not load up

Microsoft introduced the .dll library and encouraged others to share .dlls and everything was alledgedly going to work in harmony. But some software (most notably Microsoft) then overwrote those .dll's with files that have the same name and different contents.
Uninstalling the program that changed the contents does not change the file back to what it was. Only a repair install can do that. (Hopefully repair will work, rather than having to uninstall/reinstall.)

I have EMC 9 Suite and Creator Classic and Label Creator are none functional due to "drogon engine failed to intialize" I also have IE 7. Guess I will wait for EMC 11 or 12 to see if Sonic comes up with a fix. In the mean time I will be using my Record Now V 4. It's ancient but it does work!
