I would like to burn an audio cd to disk. I've created the disk using tools, but I cannot find a way to make that drive the target. What am I missing.

As you can tell I'm a newbie.

Thanks in advance.

What program/suite of applications do you have? You posted in Easy Media Creator 9 forum. Do you have that or something else?

A VCD is a video burned onto a CD. It is not a music disc nor is it a virtual drive. Are you trying to burn a Audio Cd, an mp3 disc or a DVD with audio on it? or are you trying to copy a video CD file to a disc?

If you open the software's home page and look under applications, do you see "Music Disc Creator"? That is what you use. When you go to burn, select the device you want to burn to.

Perhaps that VCD had you confused since you thought it was virtual. You could also burn an ISO file and then mount a virtual drive and copy that ISO file to the virtual drive and play the disc from there. I'm not sure why you wound want to..

Confused yet?

I'm trying to cover the possibilities but as you can imagine, a little more about what you are trying to do would be helpful. BTW, if you are trying to copy DRM protected content to a CD, you can't do that with this program directly.

I finally heard back from support. I cannot do what I wanted to do. I thought that I could set up an area on the hard drive to act like a virtual disk, and burn a cd to the virtual, then read that cd from another program. But I can't...

Thanks

I don't think there's any program that will treat a virtual drive as a writer to be honest - in fact, there are some programs (mainly games) that won't even install if they detect a virtual drive mounted

I think you can do essentially what you want, as Steve (sknis) posted above. The idea is to put together the disc project you want, and write that to a .ISO image file. Then you start up Disc Image Loader (part of EMC 9), add the .ISO file to its list of images, and tell it to "mount" the image. It will assign a drive letter to it, which you can see in Windows Explorer, and it will behave exactly as a normal CD/DVD drive, and you can access it with your other application. However, it will only behave like a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, not a writer.

Hope that helps!
