I used LP & Tape assist to capture audio from my LP's & for some reson it is ok for first 3 or 4 tracks then it seems to loose it's way it misses some seperations & places others where there is none & when i look at my captured track they are fragmented one track could be in three files need help first timer

Program is probably OK. Make sure your hard drive is clean (no malware) and defragged. Depending on your computer, you may have to shut down other running programs. Are you saving the captured video to your system drive (usually c: ) If not, there could be a time lag to save to another drive. Disconnect from the INTERNET and then shut down you anti-virus. It may be scanning your capture and slowing things down.

Are you LPs clean and free of scratches and other noise (line noise)? That could be the problem. You might try to play around with the length of silence that must be detected to quality as a track break. I often find that the track break is not where it should be by a couple of seconds either way.

I prefer to add my own track separators in Sound Editor where I can also usually get the audio tags also.
Some music just doesn't lend itself to automatic detection of tracks.

Thanks DIGITAL GURU I'll give your sugestions a go Ithink the last one could be the go it should not be the LP's as most of them have only ever played once to record to tape & the prob happens to all LP's i try & alot of seperation is in the midle of a track thanking you for your advice- - - -DENNIS B
