Has anyone here pressed a project with DVDit PRO HD yet?

If so, could we have some details about the process, most notably the output, if DTL drive and how acceptable the source was to the plant.

I notice that Adobe Encore CS3 does not have CMF output.

I also notice that Scenarist with Bluray is only for CMF output. There goes my dream if i can't make a BD-R with Scenarist. I know a bloke with Scenarist Bluray and was shocked- he was having a problem with DVDitPRO HD and I said mate, why don't you use Scenarist then? To which he replied, you can't make BD-R it's only for replication.

I'm really interested in pressing (replicating) blu-rays; Sony Dadc says they want BDCMF Version A 0.90 output, which Scott told me DVDIt pro HD so far doesn't implement. Her in France, a large presing company called Qol tell me they want CMF 2.0. DOs any one know if DVDIt Pro implements it?

My bluray project is at the sony plant now and they made it up to the check disc successfully but the check disc won't play on bluray players. They sent a copy to Japan and am waiting to see what they come up with.

SONY E-MAILED and they will discuss the problem with Japan this wed.

Japan said the test disc looks fine and don't know why it doesn't play

Hi!

Any position about the replication of your BDMV disc on Sony DADC?

I'm ready to start authoring BDMV and cannot have problems with the replication process.

Thanks.

Peter

Still no word from Sony or Roxio on the replication troubles. I going to re-author with the high end bluray authoring software and try replication again.
Kitchy
I've tried to use France based company QOL, first they told me a CMF image was ok. After I shipped out the CMF image on an external HD, they specified that they needed BDCMF 0.90, which I understand DVDIt doesn't output to. So I'm ^#!& outta luck, unless there are any other plants that supports DVDIt's CMF image.
Kitchy
The Sony plant either won't accept neither BD-R discs or the CMF image that DVDIt HD creates. This really makes DVDIt useless from a professional author point of view when it comes to authoring Blu-Ray.
bob-g
Seems like thats the case. Should be getting my re-authored file soon and will re-submit it to sony. All the video files and graphics are the same as I used in DVDit the only difference is using a high end authoring software.
Kitchy
I shipped a Harddrive with the DVDIt CMF image to the Sony plant, and they accepted it. They have now tested it and found that there's no problems with the CMF image. So I guess it's working after all smile.gif
bob-g
Did you get a working test disc yet? My image also worked and they made a glass master but the test disc from the glass master wouldn't work.
Kitchy
Strike my previous message. They accepted the image, but I've received a message from the Sony plant now that it passed the initial testing, but didn't pass the next phase or something like that. They're complaining about the software it being authored on being too old. I don't know if they're talking about the CMF version being too old, or the actual authoring software being too old (DVDIt Pro HD). I guess DVDIt Pro HD isn't for professional use, as it isn't possible to use it for outputting a working BD master.
shueardm
Don't you just hate it when software companies make claims that are untrue. dry.gif
SS Scott
not untrue, just out of date. our CMF version is .89, the replicators are now only support .9 and higher. there will be a fix for this, but I do not have a time frame.
plee
Seems kinda odd that they can't use version .89 if the current is .90

It does seem to be alot of trouble to actually press disc though...

I just got a quote for 1000 BDROM and was surprised that it was not as expensive as thought.
Came to under $7 ea including mastering, AACS, all fees, cases, inserts and shrink wrapping.
They said they had not heard of problems with DVDit PRO HD but at the same time quoted CMF .9 required.
So that's what we need from Roxio.
POSTDIGI
Scott,

Any updates on CMF .9 for DVDitProHD? I have a hot one for replication.

Dear all,

are there any news concerning replication and CMF version?

Hi!

Well, I authored on DVDit Pro HD 6.3 a BDMV and dent the CMF to SONY DADC and it doesn't work! I pay for the ISAN code, and averyting is corrent on the authoring, but they cannot replicate. Here is the ERROR REPORT:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unencrypted Aligned Unit in encrypted stream

An Aligned Unit in an encrypted file was not tagged for encryption.

Background
An Aligned Unit consists of three consecutive sectors of a Clip AV Stream file. When AACS encryption is applied to a Clip AV Stream file in the \BDMV directory, the AACS specifications require that all Aligned Units in the stream be encrypted. This means that during authoring, the authoring application must 'tag' each Aligned Unit as needing to be encrypted. This is done with the Copy Permission Indicator bits in the Aligned Unit header.

When AACS encryption is applied, the utility that is applying the encryption should verify that the Copy Permission Indicator bits are properly set and should only encrypt Aligned Units that are tagged for encryption. If an Aligned Unit is encrypted but it is not tagged for encryption, it may lead to playability problems.

This error occurs when the EclipseSuite tools find an unencrypted Aligned Unit is found inside an encrypted Clip AV file (*.m2ts).

Severity
This rule is considered an error since it could lead to playability problems. It is possible that utilities that apply the encryption may assume that all Aligned Units are tagged and proceed to encrypt all of them. If an Aligned Unit is encrypted but its Copy Permission Bits indicate that it isn't, then this may cause playability problems.

Cause
This problem is typically caused by the authoring system not tagging all Aligned Units for encryption.

Solution
The best solution is to have the image re-authored. However, it is possible that this condition may not be a problem as long as the utility that is applying the encryption only encrypts Aligned Units that are tagged for encryption. Eclipse's ImageCopy will do this.

Mr. Scott! Can you help me in the case? What can i do to solve the problem?

Thanks.

Hi Scott,

what does "Have an updated build..." mean? Is it an update that includes a correct (up to date) CMF version?
Please tell us more.

Tobias.
danny
hallo folks,
I hope youŽll fix this soon.

this is a really bad news, that it is not possible to create correct CMF-images for replication.

dear ss scott, even this new built is a beta, I would appreciate to have a correct working software!

as tobias said, could you give us more information about this? I remenber, you have been talking about several bug-fixes a few month ago (incl. the wav-file-problem)

or will the next update a major release?

THX

SS Scott
The updated build has Sony CMF version .92. Both BD-25 and BD-50 CMF images have been replicated and are functional.

POSTDIGI
SS Scott,

I PM'd you yesterday requesting the build that supports CMF v.92
Can you forward that to me, please?
In need ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

I second this Scott, i have 6.3 version of dvditprohd and only able to produce CMF 0.89. Why i thought we were beyond this and had choices.
Kitchy
Need the new build aswell. Could you pm it to me?

Scott, how did you test a BD-50 image if this app only supports BD-25?

6.4 supports BD-50.
