The only part of your first post that was relevant to this topic is the quoted part, because as you were saying, that didn't work for you. It's irrelevant who posted the suggestion for the OP, as it's been posted by many others, many times, and has worked for many of them. Obviously not all.
As to the off-topic part about Roxio not doing a good enough job cleaning up after itself, well that applies to just about every software app out there, including Microsoft. None do a good job of cleaning out all there stuff when uninstalling. They all should be better at it so users don't have to rely on some other program, or spend hours manually removing stuff, to clean up the junk left behind.
Well here is the 4 page process from Roxio Support - See if you can find the errors in these instructions. It makes it more challenging to have a successful outcome if the instructions are unclear and innaccurate. ( I have reached he reinstall stage - 8 in less than 2 hours)
The following instructions will completely remove Roxio Easy Media Creator.
Make sure you have the downloads or discs to reinstall.
Note that this will also remove any Sonic products from your computer.
Remove any Roxio and Sonic programs from add/remove programs or use the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility if you receive a certificate file error while trying to remove the Roxio program. (Directions below)
