Full Version: No Menus via PS3?

I burned some HDV movies to a BD-RE and played them fine on my PS3. I wasn't satisfied with my DVD so I made two changes: the first was to change the "First Play" option from chapter one of the disc over to the menu system, the second was to add an mp3 file as background music on the PS3. I erased and re-burned the BD-RE and now it won't play at all on the PS3.

I don't know if the menus even work on PS3 since I couldn't even get them to pull up when the menus weren't selected as 'first play'. I have the latest PS3 firmware. I also replaced the .dll file with the PS3 patch .dll file.

My question is: DO MENUS WORK ON THE PS3??

I don't have any problem with menus on my PS3.
I do have a problem with DVDit Pro on my computer. Most of the time the menu is invisible when using Cyberlink Blu-ray player software.

Yes, menus do work on the PS3.

I would suggest (everybody) to write "Volume", it's just a safer thing to do than burn to disc.
Check you results on your PC, if everything looks correct, then burn to BD-RE/R.

One other thing to try is to do a full erase on the disc.

Try removing the sound

If all else fails, start a new simple project with a menu with a couple of buttons and see if that works.

Thanks for the replies. To clarify: the same file worked on my PS3 when the "Play First" was the first video chapter, however, despite the pesence of a menu, I couldn't get it to pull up. When I erased the disc and changed the "Play First" to the Menu system, it wouldn't play at all in the PS3. I would load it, and the screen would go black as if it were going to play and then...nothing. If I put the same disc in my PS3 - it would run flawlessly.

BTW What do you mean "write to volume"? I have no idea what that means. How to I choose to do that? I suppose it will still play on a typical BR player?

From the "Burn" dropdown, it will have "Write Volume", this will create the files to your hard drive instead of burning to disc. smile.gif

Have you tried create a new project with just a menu? Seems very strange.
