I have successfully created a video in Sonic "MyDVD" on a DVD+R DL, I would like to finalize it but i cant seem to do it. I have to go into Sonic DigitalMedia LEv7 to access the finalize button and when I hit it, it comes up "please insert an appendable date disc that is CD media or DVD write once media". I am very confused!!

Burning a dvd disc with MyDVD will automatically finalize (close) a disc. There is no need to finalize it manually.

Thanks Larry.. I was just wondering because it plays in one of my dvd players but not the other one. I thot if it was finalized it would play in all dvd players?

Many of the DVD player manufacturers have disclaimers about compatibility with all media types and media recorded by other recorders. It may play on one player but not another is common, particularily with older players. PCs are much better with the compatiblity issues since the firmware updates will often help.

Thanks Dave! It's just that all other dvd's I have recorded in other programs and finalized have all worked in both my dvd players.. I will look for some updates tho. Thanks
