Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

I have read the threads, performed the tasks outlined and still my Roxio is disobedient!

I have a Dell w/512 RAM, 2.4 Ghz and a GeForce4 MX420 Video Card. I am using the retail version of EMC 9.0.088. I have defragged the hard drive, downloaded the latest driver for the Video card (or so says NVIDIA) and tried to burn a dvd using MyDVD. All goes well until the burning process when I get a dialog box with "analyzing media files." There it stays. Nothing happens. I have left it overnight. Still no progress.

What can I do to make this program come when I call?

Would you please give some additional information as to what file type or content you are trying to burn to a DVD. Also where did the file or product you are trying to burn to DVD come from. Usually, the standard way most burn a DVD is start by using Videowave with photos, video, etc. and after editing and adding whatever else, (music, transitions, text etc.) then save and enter that saved file into MYDVD program.

Thank you for your reply, Frank.

The files I am trying to burn are digital pictures that I took with my Canon Rebel XTi. I saved them to my hard drive and then added them by clicking on "add photos" to the wizard on the slideshow menu. I also added MP3 music files that are also saved on my hard drive.

I have used previous versions of EMC and haven't had this problem. Isn't it easier to use the wizard? I have also tried to create the project and then save it, but the program again goes to, and gets stuck on, the "analyzing files" thing again.

I look forward to your ideas, Frank.

Easier to use the Wizard. Also limited to 99 photos and has some bugs. VideoWave is the best program to use.

Thank you, Bruce. I didn't know about the limitation. I will try your suggestion.

Tried that and it still hangs... What next? Could my burner be a problem? (a TDK 440N)

The program will sometimes say that my video card driver is out of date and yet the NVIDIA site says I have the up to date driver for my GeForce4 MX420.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

That card is real old, and I don't know if it will work. I would upgrade to a new video card if possible.

I was afraid you'd say that!!

I wish Roxio would have spelled out ALL the specific requirements necessary to make this work. While the amount of $ that I spent for this program will not be the difference between eating or starving or making my son's tuition payment, I still hate the idea of throwing $ down a rat hole.

Thank you for your help.

You are welcome. If the rest of your computer is good, it is worth the $75-$100 on a new video card.
