I have my cassette player plugged into my PC, and I can make recordings fine using the "LP and Tape Assistant."

Trouble is I can't hear anything playing while I'm recording; I have to record something, stop, then play it (through the LPTA).

So it's a serious PITA to find particular songs on the cassette, when I want to copy selectively. mad.gif

Does anybody know how to allow one to "monitor" (hear) the music you're recording, using the LPTA?

Thanks!

That depends on your sound card. What is it? Go to the Windows Control panel then Sound and Audio Device and make sure that the proper settings are selected in playback and the selection is not muted. (Typically "line in"). That player should be plugged into the line in unless you have a laptop.

I'm having the same problem and unfortunately when I select USB Audio CODEC for the capture from field, the only selection for "Input" is "microphone"; there is no "Line In" selection unless the "Capture From" field is set to my system sound card which is not what I'm capturing from.

First,you're "me tooing" a post that's 2 months old.

Second you say you're trying to set it to a USB device and the other poster was connecting to his sound card.

Please start a new post with your issues and let us know exactly what you're doing, what part of the application you're using and how you have your devices connected.
Also please let us know what OS you're using,XP or Vista.
