Hi everyone!
I'm totally exhausted for about a week I'm trying to resolve a problem with the initialization of Roxio Creator Basic. Every time I try to start the program (whether from Start menu of directly from the Program Folder) I get an error message "Could not complete the last command: unknown error". The Roxio_Central33.exe remains in the task manager, so I have to kill it. I've tried about 20 different types of reinstall/clean install/system restore but nothing seems to work. I have an HP Pavilion Notebook which came with preinstalled Vista Home Premium Edition (and "built-in" Roxio Easy Creator 9). It seemed to work for some time, but after a while this problem arose. The reasons I don't know... Nothing special had been done.
After I got the problem, I've contacted with HP Support but the guys there were absolutely ignorant about this case and after talking with 9 members of their "team" (none of them was hellpful) I was advised to so a full system recovery. I reinstalled all the computer and after the first boot I've checked if Roxio starts or not. It didn't! Even after a full system recovery it didn't initialize... After all I've tried the patch... No result... I've tried to install an ASPI, as I thought this may cause the problem (I didn't have any on my PC). It also was useless...
The problem seems not to be in the DVD Writer as other Freeware Burners (so far I've tried Burn4Free) and Windows built-in CD burner work well!
I've searched the internet for the solution... Nothing...
Any ideas??? I can't even understand what causes this failure...
Maybe you guys can be helpful... Will be hugely grateful!
My notebook parameters are:
HP Pavilion dv6000 Notebook, AMD Turion 64 x2
120GB HDD
1GB DDR2
Slimtype DVD A DS8AZH ATA Device (I have no idea who the manufacturer is...)
NVIDIA DeForce Go 6150
Windows Vista Home Premium
