I need clarification please.

The v9.1 download posted by John at Roxio states that this version is only for Vista Certification. Like many other people, I do not run Vista so the question is; Does this version fix the "activation" problem for Win XP and other non-Vista operating systems? I do not want to chance downloading 450MB just to find out.

If a fix is not included for non-Vista users, will there ever be one? I assume "activation" works in the Vista version.

My understanding is that it does nothing at all for the activation problem or the invalid key problem. My personal opinion is that if you're not running Vista, you won't benefit from it.

ROFLLOLIPMP...

I actually got the opposite result where I started getting the invalid cd key and other common EMC 9.0 problems after I attempted to install the 9.1 update. As stated before, the patch is only to make EMC 9.x Vista compatible. It should've been numbered 9.01 as 9.1 would indicate bugs would have been fixed.

Do you have Vista 32 or Vista 64? wink.gif

Thanks for your responses. By the by; I miss stated the download size as 450MB. It is really 750MB, way too much for dial-up and risky as a download even with broadband. I believe Roxio should make a CD available for those that want it.

I would appreciate it if John or Tom from Roxio would respond to my original questions. It would take the guess work out of this and minimize continuing frustration.

I tried the 9.1 download on my XP machine (for the MPEG-2 fix) as Roxio recommended that, but it kept telling me I did not have the right version of Roxio to install the update - this was a DOA in my book . . .

64 bit. I bet the culprit to the problem is the install instructions.
