I'll make this as short as possible. I have been using EMC7.5 (upgraded from 7.0) on an old computer. Worked fine. Got a new computer. Tried to install 7.5. Window popped up saying this was an upgrade only and a previous version could not be found. I installed the 7.0 and then installed the 7.5. Everything seemed OK till I tried to use Sound Editor to convert an LP. The screen in Sound Editor was nothing like on my old computer. When I select Sound Editor and then Record Audio, the screen goes away. I uninstalled everything. Reinstalled 7.0. Looked at it and the Sound Editor screen is exactly like on my old computer. Then reinstalled 7.5 and the screen is completely different. It seems that even though 7.5 was installed on my old computer, I was actually using 7.0 for the last 2 years. Would love to try 7.5 but how can I get the screen to not disappear when I go from Sound Editor to Record Audio. Or am I going about this totally wrong. Running Windows XP Pro on a Dell and bought this software mainly to convert old LP's onto CD's. Tried to make this as short as possible. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

alyn,

what version of Internet Explorer, and version of Windows Media Player are on the new PC? IE 7 and WMP 11 seem to break this older software.

Launch your Interenet Explorer. Click on Help -> About Internet Explorer. What version does it say?

Try a repair on the EMC 7.5 software, by going through Add/Remove Programs, and selecting Change, not Remove.

Sound Editor was changed, for the better, starting with EMC 7.5. It is a lot more versatile than the EMC 7 version.
