Trying to drag and copy picture files to disc. The files do get transfered but then XP shuts down with a blue screen. Annoying!!! I did the download/update. Was I suppose to restart after the update?

Always reboot when you update a program.

The only Roxio program that would allow drag and drop to a disc is Drag to Disc, a Packet Writer.
All packet writers have one thing in common, they have proven to be the least reliable form of burning ever devised!
But at the same time XP has a built in burning program that will do the 'same thing' (actually a CDFS disc with Sessions).
So without more details, we do not even know if you were using Roxio at the time.
