Dear developers and partincipants of the forum!
I use D2D of EMCDC 8.05 as a packet writing software. It works correctly under Windows 2003, maybe to the surprise of the developers who disabled D2D software support (under Windows 2003) in the later versions of EMCDC (10). The driver itself (v. 8) is written well, and I'm surprised why there is no further support of this software, why there is no separate D2D software. But I've found a bug in D2D and EasyWrite Reader 8.x:
1. Under Windows 2003 insert an UDF 2.0 DVD-RW (not a CD/CD-RW!) formatted under D2D with some written information.
2. Share the CD/DVD letter over the network
3. Connect the shared network drive on the other computer of the network
4. Try to open some files on the shared DVD.
A trap will happen that will cause a reboot of Windows 2003 Server with installed D2D (or EasyWrite Reader). To test this bug it's enough to install only an EasyWrite reader.
I'd like to hear your comments on this bug and hope it will be fixed soon.
Also, I would like to know if there are any further developments and support of D2D and IBM DLA programs.
Sincerely yours,
Grant L. Atoyn
