I don't quite understand what you mean by overwrite edited movie. Where did you edit it?

now working in rel 9 (think i am on my 4th release)...i created my video as in prior versions...dragged into my dvd builder...video was over 5 sec +/- thus music timing was off...edited movie in My DVD to assure timing and fit were good...went back to My Video as in prior versions...the changes did not apply...made the changes in the video based on my notes ...went back to MyDVD the revised MyVideo "movie" didn't reload

Version 7, 7.5, and 8 projects are not compatible with EMC 9. Now, if you are doing editing to videos, etc., you should be using VideoWave to do it, then use MyDVD for creating menus and burning to an image file or DVD.

Whatever changes you make later, in VideoWave, will not be reflected in MyDVD, until you bring the actual VideoWave file into MyDVD.

I am having the same problem. My DVD will add the original capture files, but not edited video wave files. This has been the situation here since I downloaded the latest Creator 9 update release. I think it is a programming error in this update, as the update deletes and replaces the original programming.

About the only that I can think of that happening is if you saved your VideoWave files to the default location picked by the software. I NEVER let the software decide where to save my files. I make a folder, outside of Documents and Settings, usually on a different partition. If the software gets uninstalled, my VideoWave and MyDVD files are not removed or affected.

yes...always use a sep/directory ... roxio tried to update a couple of days ago and their "server was busy"...like you... learned the hard way on rel 7.5 update ...dug so deep getting roxio's secrets...resulted in total reformat...haven't found where rel 9 is hiding their stuff but know it is out there as drive capacity keeps dropping...if you know where to look let me know...didn't partition my drive this time...is this a mistake...must run windows xp per no autocad patch for vista ytd

I am not sure what files you are talking about, but in MyDVD (or VideoWave), click on Tools, then Options, and click the Clear button for Proxy files. That will get rid of some files.

Look at the path that is there. If you have added music clips for a slideshow, I think it puts a copy of those music clips in the folder that is in that path, and I am not sure that clearing the Proxy files gets rid of them. I have deleted them manually.

You say AutoCad doesn't work in Vista yet? I use the 2000i version, so I am glad that I haven't upgraded to Vista. I have no need to, anyway.

One thing we have noticed in V9.

If you add a dmsm file into MyDVD and save the project.

Then go back to VW and edit that dmsm file, the MyDVD dmsd project file will never reflect those edits!

The only way to get the edited dmsm file into MyDVD is delete the first one and add it through Add Title.

if you will google autocad / vista compatability...you will find suggestions...need to rewrite some file to get it to load...next project when i must switch to vista...

will try the options/clear /proxy files...thus far my experience has been that you will need to reload the VideoWave and the Introduction-music...spent 1 hr +/- writing a dvd only to learn that the intro didn't write...the preview is worthless for me at this time till i learn more about how rel9 works.

my rel9 was out of the box...don't trust downloads...on a reformatted machine...am aware of all the roxio tracks everywhere...i am currently looking for music tracks as my drive capacity has gone down 1% just today.

have had trouble editing in MyDVD...i have closed MyDVD and gone back to VideoWave to edit my *.avi/*.jpg/*.wav, etc.

on another subject...i found the music files that were multiplying on my HD...
C:\ Doc & Setting...Local...Settings Settings...Temp...

recovered 12 GB on my HD
