OK New to this form-Posted last week or so about a problem getting my computer to recognize my camcorder-I did a clean boot as suggested, reinstalled the software and everything worked like it should.

Today I needed to burn a DVD from digital tape so I go to Plug and Burn and low and behold the message comes up indicating "No Compatible Device". I have uninstalled my Picture Package software which is for my Sony DCR-HC21 and reinstalled-I also updated the firmware. Still I get the same message-I also get a message indicating "Project is Empty".
It's funny because last year I did quite a bit of work downloading clips and making a soccer video for my local HS-Everything worked great-I even was able to Plug and Burn many DVD's.
So at this point I am very frustrated and can't get the programs to work.
Thank you for your help in advance!!!

Do you have IE7 installed on your system? If yes, dump it since it breaks EMC 7/7.5.

Yes IE7 is installed on my system and I tried to uninstall it but am unable to-I went into the program files and I also cannot delete certain files-So In other words I can't do what you have suggested.

I went back into Roxio and tried to open it and I get another message which I also got today that reads:

(No Audio Rendering was found. Please install or reinstall your audio driver software)

I also recently installed a new sound card which is: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE-Everything has been working fine up to day!!

Thanks for your help and suggestions!!!

Here are the links to how to uninstall IE 7 and WinPlayer 11 - both from Vista and adjusted to do their thing in WinXP.
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=23162
They make changes deep inside the Operating System, and disable a lot of software programs.

If you don't want to remove IE 7 and/or WinPlayer 11, you will need a newer burning program that is Vista compatible.

That message might indicate that your sound card is not properly connected to your capture card. Some Sound Blaster cards have a separate internal connection to connect to the capture card.

Can you capture with Windows Movie Maker and do you get sound?

You say you can't uninstall IE7? If you open Control Panel then click on Install/Uninstall Programs, and IE 7 isn't listed, that means you are running Vista, and you aren't going to be able to run the programs in EMC 7, 7.5, or 8 with much success.

Then, if you have IE7 on your computer, it will show up in Add/Remove Programs. If it doesn't, you have more problems than I can help you with.
