Where does this end?
I bought EMC 9 Deluxe Suite (with the DVC90) at my local CompUSA on August 20th. I found within a few days that my year old Tecra M5 notebook simply WOULD NOT complete the transcoding required to burn a DVD. The Roxio software froze every time. I worked with tech support here, loaded new graphics drivers, uninstalled, reinstalled, system-restored, etc, many times, all to no avail. I didn't send in the rebate right away for obvious reasons. I COULDN'T RUN THE SOFTWARE, AND I HAD NO CHANCE OF RETURNING IT TO COMPUSA IF I CUT THE UPC CODE FROM THE BOX !!!
My other computer (desktop) was old and didn't have a DVD burner. I ended up ordering (and waiting for) a new Dell desktop, specifically to solve this problem and allow me to use this Roxio software. After I confirmed that everything worked and I could in fact now actually USE the software, I cut the UPC code and mailed in the rebate form with receipt. Three days later I got an email saying I could log in and check my rebate status.
"REBATE REJECTED DUE TO POSTMARK DATE SEPT 24th BEING PAST THE 30 DAY TIME TO MAIL IN THE REBATE".
Meanwhile, I continue to get emails from Roxio wanting me to give them still MORE money to "upgrade" to version 10. No way, no more, never again will I buy a Roxio product.
