I've authored a disc using the latest PS3 patch on this board, with 3 menus, to movies to a Maxell BD-RE disc, burned with my Pioneer BDR-202 burner. Source footage was output from Apple Compressor using the suggested settings on this board's sticky.
First off, I can't get DVDit Pro HD to actually burn a disc successfully. When I run the burn function, it says it completes successfully but then the disc is unreadable by my computer or the PS3.
So, as a solution, I output a volume from DVDit, then installed the current version of Nero that allows for Blu Ray burning and burned the disc.
That burned just fine and I can read the disc in my computer.
However, when I put it in my PS3 (latest firmware, which I think is 1.9), I get the error:
video cannot be played Error 80029941
Any thoughts?
(Oh, PS: to try to burn from DVDit, I've reinstalled graphics card drivers - GeForce 8600 GT / 256mb - reinstalled the PX Engine and edited my registry from instructions given to me by support).

Can't speak to why DVDit is not burning for you...though BD-REs need to be initialized/formatted before burning them in the program. on the NERO burn, maybe you are having a UDF issue? try outputting an image instead of a volume and burning that image to disc with NERO.

The image worked. Thank you. How would I initialize and format a BD-RE in DVDit?
Also, on the version that worked, though my menu links worked fine in simulation, they didn't work on the PS3 if they were linked to chapters - only the ones linked to seperate movies. (The chapter skip buttons also didn't work).
Any ideas there?

not sure why the chapters are not working. do they work properly on your computer BD player? If not, then it sounds like the application doesn't like your MPEG for some reason. can't find the iFrames. I imagine though that if you feed DVDit Pro HD the raw file and let the application do the transcoding, that issue will go away.

The image worked.
Hello, I am having the same "80029941" on my PS3.
The problem is that I have already chosen the option "Burn to Volume" instead of "Write disc image" and I have deleted the video source file

Which options do I have to configure on my burning software in order to get the exact same disc as the ISO image ? For example which file system do I have to choose ? (udf 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, Joliet, etc.)

when you used Nero to burn the blu-ray disc from "the volume" DVDitPro HD created,
did you tell Nero to do "UDF 2.5"?

TomInIowa you're the man, thanks a lot my friend

Indeed I chose UDF "2.0" that's why it didn't work !
Now I tried "UDF 2.5" and it works PERFECTLY, thanks again !!!
PS : For your information, I don't use Nero but a software called "Power2go" (from Cyberlink company) because it came with my BD Burner.

Interesting posts -
I noticed when I was able to successfully burn to disc for PS3, my chapter points in some cases were off by a couple of seconds or more(late). Navigation and the video played fine otherwise. The chapter glitch was present when playing back in the computer as well. As the video was transcoded in DVDitProHD was there a setting that was incorrect perhaps that could have caused the I-frame glitches if that's what it was? Also, since I'm almost committed to Nero 8.0 for burning to disc at this point, is it better to go from 'volume' created in DVDitProHD or 'image' file? I did note the UDF 2.5 setting required.

I always go with 'volume'. But I think either one is fine, just personal pref.
