I've tried playing a Blu-ray (Panasonic BD-R) disc authored in Roxio Pro-HD, the file is a Edius HQ-AVI Roxio seems to handle it fine and burn went fine. Bottom Line I can't play it back in my computers Piorneer 202 Blu-ray player, nor my Sony BDP-301 player..anyone have any imput...(I heard that the best player from sony to play Blu-ray is the Sony BDP-S1, but shouldn't it at least play in the Pioneer burner thru the computer...???? gary, output an image and try to burn it to DVD-R. I have heard that the 300 plays DVD-R based content but not BD-R based content. as to your computer. what playback software do you have?

Hi Scott, I CAN play my standard DVD's from Edius to Roxio, no problems, I've tried playing the Blu-Ray in my computer thru "MYDVD" "MX" roxio media experience. playes fine. the Blu-ray's don't even bring up any play options...Gary..Thanks for the help. Do you think it the media, ie Panasonic BD-R's (I got them at Frys electronics on sale for $7.99) mabe thats why their so cheep...?
SS Scott
nice price. no I don't think it is the media. I think the Sony model does not play BDMV on BD-R discs. It may, however play BDMV on DVD+R. Dual layer disc would get you about an hour of HD footage...you would have to limit your bit rate to 20mbs or less to avoid stuttering...not bad though it it works.

On the computer, you will need a BD playback software. Either WinDVD BD or Power DVD BD.

Thanks again Scott, Where do I find the software for playing thru my computer, I would of guessed that the Roxio HD-pro software would cover this.?? Gary

DVDit Pro HD is an authoring software, not a playback software. Look up WinDVD or PowerDVD online and you will find the latest programs for handling BD playback. might want to look through various forums as well to see which one handles BDMV on BD-R best.
