Hello,

I just received my DELL Inspirion 531 yesterday, which uses Roxio Version: 9.0.116.

I have already made 3 different attempts to burn a music CD using 3 different discs, but without any success.

At the end of the burn process, I get a message indicating that the burn process was successful and then the CD ejects. But when I try to play the music CD, nothing happens and a subsequent check shows that the disc is empty (or nearly empty). The discs I'm using are Sony CD-R (700 mb).

I have no idea what is going on and why my songs are apparently not burning correctly, even though I am following the required steps.

Your help in alleviating this problem would be GREATLY appreciated.

Many thanks, Ron/w5www

Your version is a OEM from Dell. Not a Roxio Retail version most users here know and use.

You need to explain in detail and in what applications your using for help. Remember we don't have your version of the software.

Since you just got your system yesterday, I'd call tech support first and report the problem. If they sent you a computer with v9 (basic) on it and it doesn't work out the box (and if you're doing nothing wrong) then I'd complain.
While I have no problems with Sony discs, maybe your burner doesn't like it so try another. Also, try burning an audio cd in Windows Media Player and see if that's successful.

w5www, I've merged the topics since you posted in 2 places and got an answer in each place. Please only post the same question in one area.
