Please make sure that the compatibility mode is disabled in the compatibility tab of the properties for quicktime player.exe” . Iam using EMC 9 but i cannot include movies/videos (.mov files) without an alternative media player...any suggestions?
Are you using the latest version of Quicktime -- it lists Vista compatibility on the Q/Time site, & haven't had any problems myself.
For other players visit videohelp.com -- they have an extensive collection of downloads and links to different media players including something called Quicktime Alternative.
Are the video files you're trying to work with somehow damaged or bad? Have you or someone else been able to play or work with them, maybe on another PC?
In order to play &/or work with video your PC needs codecs installed that can work with that type of video compression or encoding... Quicktime is similar to the Windows avi format in being a container for video that's been encoded using 1 of several possible formats. Could this be the source of your problems? If you don't have the needed codec installed, or Windows is trying to use the wrong codec, or you have a conflict between different codecs, these can all cause problems -- the last 2 are more common if you've installed a "codec pack".
If you can't get it working it might be worth the time/effort to check out the forums & guides at videohelp.com to see just what is required for the exact type of video you're working with.
